What became of the gulliable girl

Who let hurts go

And wounds bleed

Did she learn to defend herself

From love’s razor sharp sword

From life’s harsh realities

Or is she still bleeding

Refusing to believe the truth

Tolerating the lies

What happened to the nice girl

Who was tainted the first time

And hurt the second time

Is she still waiting for her prince

For a knight to rescue her

For a lover to fight for her

Or is she dying deep inside

Hoping for the right one to show

Praying that the right one is out there

What happens to the humble girl

Who is jaded by tragedy

And pretends to be okay

Does she learn to make armor

To shield from shards of despair

To block sharp objects from piercing her heart

What of the gullible, humble, nice girl

Now a woman

On the verge of breakdown

On the edge of sanity

Hurtling towards ruin
