then stop, drop, and roll

and let all of it go

extinguish the flames still clinging to your clothes

and flick away the embers of disaster

you’re out of the fire now, you’re safe and you’re sound

so don’t act like you’re still being burned

though the fire remains, and the damage etched in stone

it’s only in memory, in heart

none of it’s real now

the pain

is only a memory

the fire

is only a dim image in your mind

no matter how often you think about it

you have to keep living

or else what’s the point in surviving?

what good would you do yourself

by sitting around and drowning in self-pity?

no. get up and keep walking, and don’t ever stop

keep going until you find what you want
