Happy November
I’m pretty sure New Jersey is the only north-eastern state to consistently have Indian summers and therefore the warmest weather in November this side of the Mason-Dixon Line. But despite the 60° weather, I’ve already caught that annual strain of the common cold that will last until at least the end of February.
Everything changes this time of year. Leaves aren’t green anymore – they’re red, orange, gold, brown. Scientists try to fee us this bullshit about chlorophyll and sunlight, but I don’t buy it. It’s magic – that’s all. How else would every tree in the state know to change color on the exact same day? I mean, one day my flowers are wilting and the air is getting cold; then suddenly nature is crunchy on the ground.
