What We Can’t Hear

Open the eyes of our hearts
To see you in your beauty
Open the ears of our hearts
To listen to the words you tell

You are so holy
More holy that we can imagine
You want us to know you
More than we could ever want to

There is nothing
Greater than you
We want to know you
But in our selfishness
We can’t open the eyes
And the ears of our hearts
To know your greatness
You tell of in the silence
We can’t bear to hear

Lord quiet our minds
And quiet our hearts
So we can listen
To what you have to say
In the silence
Not what is in this world
We want to love you
And to know you
But to do that we must listen
To what we can’t hear
