Chapter 1-

Two Months Later

Leah stared at the small tester. It had to be wrong. She could not be pregnant. She gripped the sink counter to keep up right. What was she going to do?

An hour later she was still in a fog of disbelief only two things were clear-

She was pregnant with Josh’s baby and she couldn’t stay here. She couldn’t disgrace her parents this way. Crying she stood. She had to leave.

She went to her closet and grabbed her old suitcase. She began throwing her belongings into it. Her parents would be home from dinner soon.

In twenty minutes she had packed her small car with most of her belongings. She stood on the porch steps. She didn’t know when she would see her home again. Would she ever spend another birthday or Christmas with her parents? Maybe if she talked to them…No, she would never be able to tell her parents what had happened. Oh, how she wished she could go back in time and undo what had happened at that party.

Reluctantly, she placed the note for her parents on the porch swing. Before turning and rushing down the steps to her car.

Her next stop was the bank. She withdrew all of the money in her account. The teller knew her and asked what she was getting.

She told her a new car; the teller smiled and ordered her to get a nice one. She nodded, took the money, and left.

On her way out of town she drove by Josh’s house. Through the bay window she could see him watching TV.

Maybe she should tell him…..after all it was his baby too, wasn’t it? As quickly as the thought crossed her mind she dismissed it. He wouldn’t care. Hadn’t he only gone out with her on a bet?
