Not Even The Moon

The moon shines brightly

In a frigid stormy sky.

Though clouds pass in front

The moon’s glow, one can still see.

Through all of the heart-wrenching troubles

One can see it; shine clear; perfect; unwavering.

But how can I see the moon

If I turn my head?

How can I see this world

Without that light shed?

If my back is turned, no

Matter how brightly the opalescent

Moon shines; I am in the shadow.

I will forever be in darkness.
