Today, my disillusionment of the human race was increased ten-fold. Through the course of this semester, I have met several new people. One person, I thought to be genuine and kind. I felt for him, because it seemed as if he was going through some hard times. Come to find out, however, that the truth of the matter is that he is a complete and utter ass who seems to have no respect for women whatsoever. As a feminist (albeit a male one…0.o Don’t look at me like that!) and someone who is usually very trusting, because I can generally tell when someone is genuine, this came as nothing less than a crushing blow to my already-frail spirit. So…I’ve written a ‘song’ about it. Hey, that’s what I do…

Deceiver

Liar
Tell me if you’ve heard this one before:
A breaking glass and another slamming door
When she came home and found you on the floor
Goddamn, she should have left you there

Liar
When you’re spinning another story
Do you reveal in all the vainglory
Ever wonder just who’s life you’re destroying
Goddamn, why did I even care…

Should have seen it from the start
Deceiver
Deceiver
You hid the darkness of your heart
The evil
The evil
Within you…

But I still send you
The hopes of a better life…
But you don’t deserve a wife

Should have seen beyond the mask
Deceiver
Deceiver
Can’t rewind the time that’s past
I believed
I believed you
Can’t believe I believed you

But now I see through
The façade that you
Tried to pass off as real…
I hope you know how this feels

Liar
If there is one thing that I hate
It’s a fraud and someone who is fake
Who uses God to shrug off their mistakes
God, man: what the hell is wrong with you?!

Liar
All this time I thought we were friends
But now I see that this is where it ends
I can’t hold on, and I will not pretend
God, man: what the hell are you going through?!

Should have seen it from the start
Deceiver
Deceiver
You hid the darkness of your heart
The evil
The evil
Within you…

But I still send you
The hopes of a better life…
But you don’t deserve a wife

Should have seen beyond the mask
Deceiver
Deceiver
Can’t rewind the time that’s past
I believed
I believed you
Can’t believe I believed you

But now I see through
The façade that you
Tried to pass off as real…
I hope you know how this feels

Since you lied to me
I’m now through with you
Don’t look at me
I won’t look at you

You made me worry about
What you were goin’ through
But all the while
It was her, in truth

And believe me, Deceiver
The way that you treat her
I would have left you, too
But so much sooner!

Should have seen it from the start
Deceiver
Deceiver
You hid the darkness of your heart
The evil
The evil
Within you…

But I still send you
The hopes of a better life…
But you don’t deserve a wife

Should have seen beyond the mask
Deceiver
Deceiver
Can’t rewind the time that’s past
I believed
I believed you
Can’t believe I believed you

But now I see through
The façade that you
Tried to pass off as real…
I hope you know how this feels

I hope one day your pain’s real…!
