Ch 1: This Bites

By: Helena F. Lupin

He sat quickly in the corner at the back of the classroom, wishing to ignore the other students of the class as he opened his backpack to get his book out. Valley liked to be alone simply because he stood out so much from other people. Most of the time it was because of how he looked. He was short for his age of seventeen, only five four, which was not the worst of it. His skin was a perfect ivory and smooth to the touch, his hair a bright and unmistakable neon silver violet with darker violet bangs falling into his eyes. One eye was a dark black pearl color, the other a storm cloud pale gray. Everyone stared at his hair, but it was either that or let it be the natural silver it was. He kept his hair long though, presently it was in a braid that was curling along the floor because he was sitting, it was only knee length when he stood up.

But like all things in life, they did not work the way he wanted. Someone shoved his book from his desk as he set it down and turned for his backpack again. He sighed and looked up a the blue eyes blond jock that stood over him. "Well, if it isn't the little fag." Valley had gotten over such stupid name calling long ago. He liked his men rouged and handsome like in a romance novel, so what?

Valley would have said something, but the bell rang and the jock moved to his seat. It was just another day on the planet called Earth, but Valley called it planet Hell. The English class drug on slowly, but at least it was the last class of the day, that was the only up side Valley could think of...until the bell rang again to release them.

The teen made a beeline for his locker and then out to the parking lot. It was as he passed a gap between two buildings that a hand grabbed his arm and he was jerked into the shadows with a shocked yelp and slammed against the wall. He had clenched his eyes, but upon no attack he opened them and looked up to the blue eyes of the tormenting jock from class. "About time, Valley." The taller male of six two muttered before his lips crashed down on the small male’s.

The kiss was hard, making Valley moan half in pain, half in pleasure. He shoved at the taller's chest until he back off a little. "Damn it, David, that hurt!" Valley hissed only to be backhanded across the face.

"Shut the fuck up!"

Valley let out a weak whimper of pure pain as blood ran down from the corner of his mouth. David was busy with the teen's throat, kissing and biting hard. Valley rarely was ever given pleasure by this secret lover. If anyone asked about the 'love bites', he was to say they were from some one night stand lay or something. David had sex with men, but he did not have relationships with them. It hurt to be a whore, but Valley found he was to afraid to say no.

Valley looked out at the parking lot as people drove away and tears filled his eyes. Why? Why did he have to suffer? That was easy to answer, David had told him a dozen times and more, he was just to beautiful to let go...especially when he cried. Valley's eyes shifted to the sky, trying to shut up the pain and warm blood running along his skin and soaking his black sweater, the hands groping along his leather clad legs.

He bit back the cry of sorrow as he was roughly ground into the brick wall. He was sure he would have more bruises now. He blinked back the tears before his face turned to confusion. "What the hell?"

"I've told you before to shut the fuck up when I'm..." David trailed of as he looked at Valley's face then up toward the sky. "What the hell?"

A dark scarlet light was streaking across the sky, with gold burning the edges of it. A sharp whistling sound could be heard in the distance as the object moved. "What is that?" Valley murmured as David for once held him tightly and it felt protective.

"I have no fucking clue." The other muttered as he watched. The object turned and made a straight line toward the earth. "Shit! It's gonna land in the fucking parking lot!" He jerked Valley with him as he moved down the alley between the buildings.

Valley tried to keep an eye on it as he was pulled along before his eyes widened, whatever it was, it was huge and it was going to make one big damn hole it if kept up that speed. He yelped as David jerked him around the corner and wrapped him in his arms just as the flaming object touched ground, making the earth shake, nothing exploded, but people began screaming.

Valley hid his face against David's chest as the taller held him tighter still, leaning against the building a moment before letting Valley go. "Stay here." He ordered as he walked around the corner slowly.

"But David!"

"Stay!" He hissed as he left Valley to stand there and shake.

Valley sat down with his back against the wall, pulling his knees up and wrapping his arms about them. What the hell was going on? He heard the screaming, but saw no one come his way. Slowly the screaming was stopping and he heard heavy thumps coming from the parking lot. He shivered harder, one hand reaching into his sweater collar to stroke the choker about his neck, it was made of silver twisting wire with a black pearl at the center over his throat. He bit his lip as he heard the scream of a voice he knew all to well. He bit back a cry as David screamed. About a minute later the taller male stumbled past him, falling on the ground and backing up, his eyes focused on the alley. Valley's eyes widened, but he did not move to look what was coming their way, feeling the earth shake with the thumps.

"David." Valley said softly as tears ran down his face. "What's coming..." David gestured for him to be quiet as he looked upward a few feet at whatever was coming their way. Valley fell silent as he pressed against the wall, not wanting to see what was walking their way, oh god did he not want to see. Slowly he turned his head as a foot the color of scarlet blood stepped into view with long slashing claws for toes. He bit back a gasp. That one appendage was massive, and when the rest of the creature followed he wanted to pass out. It was well over twelve feet tall and wearing a cloak. All he could see was the feet.

It never noticed Valley as it walked toward David. That was when the smaller teen noticed the blood on David's side, staining his red cotton button up shirt. He wanted to scream, he wanted to run, he wanted to turn away as it reached for David, but he found he was frozen. He could not look away as it wrapped a large crimson hand about David's throat and lifted him into the air. David was struggling and screaming, and with the thing's back to Valley he could no longer see David. But he could hear the sickening crack and wet crunch just before David's scream was cut off. Valley tried not to throw up as the headless body was dropped onto the ground.

Valley watched the blood pool around the body before his eyes were jerked back to the creature who twisted in what had to be sharp pain as it screeched, it's hands curling in the air. The teen watched as it hunched over and the cloak of black spilled around it, hiding it. Was the form...shrinking?

Valley could not look away as it cried out in a high pitch that was slowly becoming deeper. Abruptly all went silent. A moment later the thing stood straight and tall then, the cloak falling away. If Valley had not seen it just eat his lover's head he would have thought he had just died and gone to heaven.

The body before him now was no more then seven foot five now, the skin pale and smooth, flawlessly lovely, the backside of the man rippled with power and muscle, but there was still a fine edge to the form as it looked at it's hands. Hair the color of midnight sky was short, leading down a pale throat to broad shoulders.

Then it turned to him. This creature, now a man, was perfect. His face was handsome, arrogant, with the slight hard edge of stubble to darken his jaw line. He looked to be about in his late twenties to early thirties. Valley was positive this type of man had to come from a romance novel! Had he just fallen into a sick twisted story? Nope, this was real...and the man was walking toward him.

Valley gagged when he noticed the blood on the man's lips that was dripping down his chin. And he blushed upon noticing the man was stark naked too and very well endowed...not to mention slightly aroused. Valley paled. That could NOT be good.

The man stopped before Valley, towering over him. "You will be coming with me." The man said softly, his voice so deep it vibrated in the teen's bones. This thing’s voice was base, with a deep set accent close to Romanian with an eternal husky edge to it.

"You..." Valley murmured. "You bit off...his head..." The teen managed before his eyes rolled back and he passed out. He had been right, this was planet Hell.
