Human Beings

---

A human's never enough

Without a category, a class

They have to be labeled some way

To determine between gold, silver, and brass.

We have both liberals and conservatives

Different, though both do breathe the same

As well as Christians, Jews, Muslims...

All segregated by silly names.

I've heard black and white, yellow and red

Necessary tags, how could this be so?

We're all flesh and blood, skin and bones

Why we separate ourselves, I'll never know.

Organized into denominations and sects

Cliques within labels, and labels, and labels

To say this is how it must be

What an ungodly, awful fable.

See, I've been trying so hard

Just to figure out what all of this means

And I've been wondering, why oh why

Can't we just be human beings?
