My grade nine Language Arts "Letter to the Editor" assignment.

Dear Editor,

I am in one of the finest clubs for Catholic girls around: Challenge. The ages are 10-16. It focuses on both praying and playing. Our biggest event just went by on Sunday, the 28th of May. We had our Pure Fashion Show!

I love being able to say how I model prom dresses and Source for Sports clothing, but it goes deeper than just clothes, I’m a role model. Of course it’s a lot of fun to walk down a catwalk after having gotten your makeup and hair done, people clapping and cheering as you strut your stuff.

We choose clothes to show our best features, our eyes, our smiles, and best of all our personality; we want to turn hearts, not just heads! The best way to do that is through modesty and Pure Fashion!

Most teenage girls these days aren’t thinking about modesty, and when they do, they think it’s ugly clothes to make you look bad so nobody will think you’re beautiful. I don’t wear ugly clothes, and I enjoy looking pretty! Most girls think that you have to show almost everything to get a guy to ever think of you. I want a guy who doesn’t think of me as an object, who likes me for who I am, not for my body.

In the end it’s all about respect, for you, for guys, for everyone. If a girl respects herself, people will notice. Respecting yourself means being presentable, wearing modest but fashionable clothes, using hygiene, and acting like you respect yourself (no one likes a girl who throws herself at every male in sight).

Sure, we go against the Hollywood grain. Us Challenge models do what’s right, we have fun, and we’re at ease knowing that we can be ourselves. We can have a lot of fun, praise the Lord, be great people, and be comfortable and stylish while we’re at it! ‘Cause everyone knows that Modest is Hottest!
