Children of Twilight

Prologue

“I am now an old man, weathered by countless seasons. Throughout these long years, I have seen many terrible and wonderful things alike. Yes, I have learned countless lessons, and I have gained much wisdom. And with wisdom comes responsibility; moreover the responsibility to give back to the world. And so now, as my life draws to an end, I shall give you this, a story.

“This is a story not many can tell. For in truth, no one knows when it began. Some say it began in the fallout of a doomed world, others on the field of a bloody battle, and some say with birth of a young girl. And there are others who believe it has no beginning at all, just like the great wheel itself. I tend to agree with the latter. But this is a story that must be told. However, in the language of men it must have a beginning.

“So read my words careful. For in this lies the beginning and end of all things. After all, it is the shape of what is and what will be.”
