An introduction to Undercurrents
A few things to note here.
First, I decided to try and represent the Czeran language's strong focus upon the precise relationships between people speaking in this story as best as possible. As a result some of the dialogue feels a bit stilted to my ear. But tell me what you think. Whenever they're talking to each other and use terms like 'sister' or 'brother' there should always be a suffix that indicates the exact relation. If there's any I've missed, oops. Note that that's only applicable when they're actually talking to each other. It’s not ideal, but I’m always working on trying to find ways both subtle and less than subtle to work elements of the world’s unique languages into my tales without cluttering it up with unfamiliar words and/or boring you all. They’re there to add depth, not distract from what I’m doing. Right?
This story was written a while back. It was actually my first proper delving into the world of the Czeran Empire, and it’s one I like a lot. Hopefully you’ll all like it, too. Those who’ve read ‘Trails of Silt’ will meet a familiar face in here, not that Silt’s long enough to leave a lasting impression.
Finally, this story has erotic themes, though I have edited out all the explicit material (yes, there is an x-rated version). Nonetheless it’s always best to forewarn.
Anyway, enough mumbling. To the story!
