The Grasshopper of 2006

Dark blue sheets enveloping me

eyes closing as they drift into what I cannot see

but I still feel…

hands on my skin

big enough to take me

but they don’t…

lips on my throat and face

gentler than I had thought

as your arms surround me

whispers reassuring me there is

no more pain

only safety in this perfect place

of darkness

warmth

your arms
