Your hand on my skin

Is a blessing

Kiss me one more time

Please

Hold me a little closer

Keep me warm

We learn the shape

Of each other’s bodies

By listening

To the colors

Of our words

And your eyes

So peacefully singing

Like a feather

Drifting...

A tangle of ivory limbs

And red and gold dreams

Unfold like velvet

And soft cotton

Winter sigh

Snowflakes

Falling on your cheek

Warm

Sugar-sweet

Red lipstick

Even though I’m too young

Across your lips from mine

And I learn the shape

Of your face

By mind

By heart

By soul

As I stroke it softly

Don’t leave

For the winter comes

And no other will

Love the way you do

No other knows me

The way you do

I bury myself in your chest

Warm and protected

Pull you closer

My own little cocoon

I don’t want to be a butterfly

Not yet
