the silence means the very most
when whispered by a little ghost
to each sholdier at his post
in a world of wind and sand
i see the trace of blood and toil
shine and glisten in the oil
another child's hope is foiled
by dark and dirty hands
a nation that is torn and shaken
a woman's heart is slowly brakin'
another son will not awaken
as dawn looms ever near
but as i look into her eyes
the ocean level starts to rise
who am i to criticize?
my heart wraught with fear
you can pray that yaweh keeps you strong
pray to allah hard and long
but i will try a brave new song
one that sings of love
and if i am a smidge off key
won't you come and sing with me
together there's a harmony
that echoes from above
for i looked up to the sky, i think
i saw a pair of eyes that winked
and i know now to never blink
else they disappear
and though the man has got your hands
it only takes your soul to stand
someday you will understand
someday soon you'll hear
the trumpets on the mountainside
the saints a-singin' starry-eyed
though many will be terrified
many more will know
the woman's tears have all been dried
her lover standing at her side
grinning fool and rosy bride
in morning's golden glow
