Caroling- you know I hate singing, but you do, too, so I didn't complain as much as I wanted. You also knew how uncomfortable the long, blank hallways with their small rooms made me, lost and confused elderly people with their frail bodies and wrinkled faces, but you squeezed my hand and hugged me, and I felt better. I didn't know anyone else in my group of carolers, so I kept close to your side, afraid that if I lost you then I'd just be alone in this place.

On the way back to your church we sat in the very back of the van ("Are we going to ride in the methodistmobile?" I asked, laughing), and since it was dark and they didn't care you kissed me on the cheek, then I felt your breath on my ear, followed by a quiet Iloveyou and your lips. I wanted nothing more than to be held by you, but decided that it could wait.
