Ever Fading
Author:
Matthew James Current PM
A little poem to start getting the juices flowing again. I am reviewing lots of little snippets of my work from recent months. Would love to hear from all of you. Hope you enjoy it, short but sweet with a dash of melancholy.

Thoughts and feelings

They swirl around me like butterflies

Kissing my mind

And the ripples expand ever outward

Deeper still they resonate

They resonate

In the caverns of my soul

I taste your words

And on my tongue flowers bloom or die

Depending on what I tasted

Eyes open now

The world shimmering and quaking

It is so like the night sky

For there are so many lights in it

So many glistening eyes like my own

But the darkness between them seems infinite

And the night seems to consume them

And now come the clouds and the cold silences

My breath seems to be escaping from me

Trying to run out into the world

But dissipating as soon as it leaves

My lips

As they

Slowly

Pale

Is seems as though my breath is ever fading

From this world
