Look up and open your sleepless eyes,
Let a spring tide and ocean waves bring me to you.
If you can remember me, please smile.
So you may look into my eyes.
Know that you belong beside me (inside me) –
Safe so I can always cleave to you when monsters come.
So I’ll close my eyes to my secrets again,
And pretend; pretend that the vultures don’t know.
Please. (Yes I said please.)
Take this cold hand of mine,
Walk down this road of dreams with me.
And warm my frostbitten heart.
I’ll allow you to see whatever you’d like,
If you’d only just stay. Stay with me.
Look up and open your sleepless eyes,
And you’ll see the sky isn’t blue – blue.
Yet it will pour night
Right into your cupped hands.
If you’ll watch, you can see,
Both Lunette and Solaris are here,
They can kiss each other for the first time.
On such a lovely August night.
Two stars to the left and strait on until morning
Little Terra’s sitting there with all the people.
But Earth wasn’t created for us.
We’ll find our own ground,
And leave their black and blue love behind.
Here, the butterflies dance, dragonflies race.
(Leaving their little shimmering cloud trails.)
Flowers in gay colours, wave like nationality banners,
In the powder sugar breeze. Just breathe it. INHALE.
The trees are topped with cotton candy,
And their cherry-rose flowers fall down around you like rain.
The wheat fields flaxen gold,
Woven exultant delusions. And they continue.
The birds sing nostalgic, sun-kissed harmonies like angels.
The waters aren’t Silver Nitrate here.
This is mine. This is ours, if you desire.
Here we can live forever.
(We could be happy for all eternity.)
If you can remember me, please smile
Look up and open your sleepless eyes,
And continue my simple moves.
I repeat – you repeat.
(I am you, and you are me.)
If you want to be somebody,
If you want love me.
The dream continues – It can.
Conjure life into my void lungs.
Bring colour to my blue skinned fingers –
(They clutch my motionless heart.)
Featherless – the wings that once carried me so far,
Have turned un-beautiful.
To my cloudy, blind, chocolate eyes,
The skies are starless – no longer can I count them.
Remove the hair from my freckled cheeks,
Brush the hoar frost from my lips,
And kiss me.
I need your love to live.
I need your embrace to be safe.
I need your voice to smile.
So open your eyes sleepless dreamer,
Take me with you,
Sail away with me to delight.
Let your fantasy begin
