Elegies of the damned
The bittersweet requiem

Forever gone
To the veil beyond

If black is for night
Then death has taken white

There they lay in remembrance
In the white shadows of continuance

The dreary life extended
Without knowing it has ended

Floating on airy ignorance
Drift through paper thin existence

Careless but inconsequential
Cut off before you had seen your full potential.

Fallen from Reality's touch
Pain doesn't really hurt you much.

I had written 'Elegies' in free verse and the standard rhyming couplets but I liked certain parts of both so you get to see this version too.
