I’ve lost it

I don’t know where it’s gone

Which is funny as I always keep en eye on it.

I don’t think I misplaced it

I just turned around one day and it was gone,

But I never felt it leave.

If you see it,

Can I have it back?

I miss it quite a bit,

And things get harder without it.

It’s about this big.

Not too small,

You always know it’s there.

But not so big that you find your self staring.

It’s a sort of…

Well I suppose the only colour that comes close

Is Technicolor-beige.

And the finish is shiny,

In a dull sort of way.

I don’t think there’s another like it,

But if there is,

You can check it’s mine

Cos it’s got my name scrawled in the bottom

Six letters,

Underlined three times,

In black.

I don’t think I can replace it.

It took me ages to break it in,

And now it only fits me,

And I only fit it.

I need it back badly,

I’ll offer a reward,

My heart for my confidence…

I think it’s a fair trade.
