I have to be honest with you,

I’ll never love anyone more than I love you.

And yes, I do mean love.

Yeah, it’s a strong word.

I mean it though.

Even if I were to find my long lost twin tomorrow,

Or if I met my parents,

I would still never feel the same way about them as I do about you.

It goes beyond a silly little child crush.

This is deeper than anything I could ever even try to explain.

It’s more than a platonic love for an older brother figure.

This is so much more than that.

It’s that cute little smile of innocence,

That look that a child gives that begs you,

“Cuddle me!”

It’s the way that leaning against you feels,

Safe and comforting.

It clears my head and warms my soul.

I can trust you.

You don’t want anything from me other than friendship,

Maybe a ride home when you’re drunk.

I’ll give you that without thinking twice.

The sky’s the limit

And you’ll gladly take just the treetops.
