Lynn opened her eyes and stretched. Garrett mumbled and snuggled closer to her. Lynn giggled. Her eyebrows narrowed for a moment. What had Garrett been planning with Lord Aryin? Lynn looked at Garrett and laughed as he yawned and opened his eyes.

“Morning Lynn.”

“Hello sleepy head.”

Garrett’s mouth twisted into a bemused little smile.

“Mm, I suppose I am a sleepy head”

Garrett yawned yet again and Lynn laughed at him. She looked around the room as she sat up and yawned.

“What did you and Lord Aryin talk about last night?”

“Business mostly.”

Lynn nodded. So much for straight answers. Garrett’s eyebrows lifted.

“Why? Did you overhear something?”

“Enough to know you’re planning something.”

“Ah…Well, yes, I am.”

Garrett sat up and wrapped his arms around her. He kissed her neck and smiled.

“I’m planning to…ravage you!”

Lynn squealed and laughed as Garrett tickled her. Garrett released her so she could catch her breath and Lynn tackled him.

“You’re so mean!”

Garrett laughed and wrapped his arms around her again. He kissed her cheek and smiled up at her.

“Oh alright, I’ll be nice. We should probably get out of bed and get some breakfast though. Lord Aryin’s going to wonder what we’re doing.”

Lynn laughed and nodded. She followed Garrett into the bathroom where both put on fresh clothing. Garrett took Lynn’s hand and smiled at her. He led her out into the hallway of Aryin’s home. They walked to the dining hall together where Aryin was already seated and digging into a huge banquet.

“Your cook is spoiling us Aryin.”

Aryin laughed and nodded his mouth too full to talk. Lynn and Garrett sat down and filled their plates. Servants wandered here and there, filling cups and taking away empty plates.

After breakfast the three took a walk around Aryin’s home and the gardens surrounding it. Lynn stopped frequently to admire and smell the various different flowers in the garden. She smiled happily as Garrett and Aryin talked with each other. Catching up on the last few years.
