IMPORTANT WARNINGS If you dislike or offended by shoujo-ai (female and female relationships) then DON'T read it. There is a lovely thing called a BACK button, got it? I don't need flames when I gave you a proper warning.
END OF WARNING
Originally posted under my blog in myspace and decided to repost it after I put it through spellcheck in MS Word. Sakura and Mizuki belong to me so therefore they are my own weird and unique characters.
The door of the black limo opened swiftly and a lady clad in red emerged. Her dark brown hair was highlighted in a gleam of honey because of the sun shining upon it. The lady walked onto a wide, open field with her cold brown eyes searching it. in front of her stood a large stone tablet that was wearing away at its edges. She leaned forward to rest her hand upon it and sighed. The lady kneeled upon her knees to rid the tablet of the plague of weeds that invaded it.
She carelessly tossed the plague aside and recalled all the time she had spent here before. Before everything was so right yet melancholy at the same time. She desired a change to live on adventure and that wish came true. After that she suddenly wished things would change back but she knew it would not. Sadness overtook her body and madness threatened to consume her. Behind her, another lady was approaching. This lady wore a green dress that matched her emerald eyes. Sudden movement of the wind caused her sleek black hair to go in several directions.
"Sakura...it's going to be alright." Her slender arms wrapped around the lady kneeling upon the ground. The lady looked up to reveal tears falling from the depths of her brown eyes.
"I feel so weak and helpless..." The lady burst into sobbing after she finished speaking. The other lady cradled her in an attempt to calm her down. Then the former stood up breaking the hold from the other.
"Sakura?" The named lady walked forward and turned her head to look at the one who called her.
"I can't stay much longer here. I need to be able to live free. I must go..." Her tears had dried up by now and now her face showed no emotion.
"Why?" The other called out but the former continued to walk, starting to vanish at the same time. Finally there was nothing but the one lady, her eyes swelling with tears.
"You never did tell me why..." The lady looked at where the illusion had vanished.
"Tell me Mizuki, is it an act of a coward to leave something you care about in order to save it?" the words echoed from the location that the illusion had disappeared. The lady finally recalled what she had last said to her:
"I know that going somewhere else will not remedy my troubles but I want to find my happiness. I want to be able to live a part of my life that isn't filled with sadness. I don't want to dwell on it or forget it either but I need to find the strength so that those hurdles won't bring me down anymore..."
The lady walked to the other side of the tablet to see a mural opposite to the writings on the other side. On it there was a bird set ablazed flying out of the ruins on the ground. After looking over it, she walked away and listened to the sounds of the field around her. The limo wasn’t there, it had been an illusion but why had it felt so real? Those emotionless eyes had shown weakness...so all this time it really was a shell she saw instead of her real face.
The cold blue eyes of the lady stared at the window on the other side of the bedroom. Solemnly, she laid upon the bed, slowly drifting into slumber.
Later, she awoke to the touch of a hand stroking her back lightly. Her eyes opened and looked at the lady laying beside her.
"What is it?" Jade eyes opened in recognition. "I didn't say anything. Can't I at least spend time with you without questioning me?" She made a noise in the back of her throat, signifying a response.
"By the way, I need you to go back home around noon. I am expecting someone..."
"Don't worry. I understand perfectly...I am just some tool and nothing more...This is the only way I can get his medication and you can satisfy your desires...Right?"
"Don't talk that way."
"But it's the truth, isn't it?" She turned her head to stare right into jade eyes.
"Why are you so cold?"
"Maybe because I matured much faster than I was meant to."
A solemn figure sat on a worn out, wooden dock set by a calm lake. It was a woman in her early twenties and fresh out of college. Her long dark brown hair was tamed into a ponytail running down her back. Her bare feet moved back and forth in the water. It was odd considering that a centimeter of snow laid near the edge of the lake. The water had yet to be frozen over since it was still early winter.
The trees surrounding the lake were bare from losing all their leaves. The woman allowed her hand to draw a line in the water. It was as cold as ice. However, the woman did not shiver at all but was comforted by the coldness somehow.
Cold, light brown eyes flickered up from the water to the figure that was approaching. She saw sleek oil-like hair shimmer from the rays of the morning sun. Her cold brown eyes met warm jade eyes. The figure stopped next to her and faced the water of the lake. Slender fingers wrapped itself into dark brown hair as jade eyes smirked at her and stroked her head.
"What are you doing out here in the cold? It is much warmer inside." The figure used her other hand to gesture a house near to the lake. However the house was more of a mansion than a regular house.
"Then again, the weather does suit you...Why won't you say anything? What are you so afraid of?" Thin lips parted and a cold voice echoed from it:
"I'm not afraid..."
"So what is it, then?" However, she kept her mouth shut as jade eyes smirked even more.
"Or is it that you have lost all but a drop of your humanity?"
"You are sadistic."
"I'm the only thing you got left."
"You are the destroyer of hopes and dreams."
"I show them the light."
"You devour light into darkness."
"It is their choice. Besides...how would you know? All you are now is a doll, Sakura."
"Don't call me that."
"But isn't it your name?"
"You have no right to-"
"I have every right to call your name," jade eyes narrowed, "I am the only one who is keeping you alive. I guide you now that you have lost everything. We are two sides of the same coin. Yin and yang. Without me, you are nothing."
"I won't allow myself to sink into the darkness any longer."
"Keep telling yourself that and you will start to believe it. I only speak the truth."
"Words that are sugar coated."
"To you perhaps. But tell me...when you look into a mirror, what is it that you see?"
"You are just an illusion."
"An illusion? Then how can I hurt you?"
"Mentally but not physically..."
"Really?" Her slender fingers clawed at her head after stroking it one last time. However, the woman did not call out in pain but flinched slightly. The same hand then lifted her chin so that brown eyes and jade ones met again. Tears were quietly strolling down her face and slender fingers traced their path. She then leaned down so that her face was level with hers.
Then slender fingers cupped her face and dragged her up as she rose to stand up. The fingers then grasped her shoulders so that she would firmly stay in place.
"Then why won't you say stop?" More tears came as the slender fingers moved to her lower back and a head rested on her shoulder.
"Why won't you?" She breathed into her ear. Then the slender fingers removed their grip and shoved her towards the water. Desperately, her one hand managed to grab a hold of the edge of the dock.
"Well?" She smirked as her slender fingers took a hold of the other's wrist. Then she pulled her completely back onto the dock. Her head looked upwards and glared.
"I hate you."
"Hate is such a strong word. How are you so sure you aren't confusing hate for something else?"
"You took everything I had and left me with nothing."
"But you have me here to help you."
"You use me like an instrument. You command everything that I do."
"Then, break free if it pains you so much to live your life like this."
"I will."
"But you will never succeed."
"Someone will-"
"No one will come for you and no one has. Can't you see that by now?" Slender fingers lifted her so that her feet was firmly set onto he ground. She then turned so that her back was facing her.
"Come now. If you stay out here any longer you will get sick." She then slowly started her way back to the mansion but when she realized that no one was following her, she turned around and saw brown eyes staring at her without any emotion. Then brown eyes gave in and she started to follow her towards the mansion.
"You are such a strange creature. One that is not driven by desire but the will to live. Even for someone who lost their humanity a long time ago, you still have a fire burning in your eyes. You only speak when necessary because you have no need for unnecessary words. And your soul is-"
"You don't know one thing about me so stop it."
"I know because I can see with my own two eyes."
"But all you see is an outer shell that I put together piece by piece. You don't know me."
"Maybe, but I know more than what most other people would."
'I hate you and I will escape from this prison."
"You still think so after everything I said to you? We are one. One that cannot exist without the other. I am the reflection in your mirror."
"But there is still hope." She turned around to see that her hand was in her pocket. Her slender fingers grasped her wrist and pulled it out. In her hand laid a single white flower that was wearing away.
"So you are still holding onto this? I guess I have to show you the truth once more." She pushed her into a nearby tree. This caused the snow on the tree to fall onto her head.
Meanwhile, the other figure was heading towards the mansion once more.
"Let's see if you will survive the night when you are stranded outside and covered in snow." In her hands, she saw that white flower being torn into pieces. With every fallen petal, one more tear was shed with it.
