What did you do? (Credit goes to you)

Credit goes to you

As it always does

What does it do to you?

Does it give you a buzz?

You look like you think

What you do is okay

But I am on the brink of insanity

Can’t you keep your controlling self at bay?

-

If something’s right

Credit always goes to you

If something’s wrong

We always take the blame

We are the slaves

Bound by contracts

Whipped by paperwork until we are lame

-

Credit goes to you

But it shouldn’t

If people really watched

It wouldn’t

What did you do?

But just sit around being ‘great’

We toiled we cared we tried

You came to get the glory late

-

I wish you would stop

Pretending who you are

What is the point?

You’re not a rising star

People will find out

Eventually they’ll know

That it was us not you

That you were scheming and low

-

Credit goes to you

No-one’s sure why

You were just the pretty face

To make people buy

What did you do?

Just a brand for people to enjoy

You did nothing just posed and simpered

A head twitch that is horrifically coy

-

Credit goes to you

But it really shouldn’t

If people really watched

It wouldn’t

What’s so great about you?

Bur still, credit goes to you.
