Flame

Born from lightning.
A strike, one into my heart
Explosions set barrages.

The dry tinder of my bones crackles.
Blackens and chars.
Curls like leaves in heat

Surreal glow emitting from within
Light shining…
Exiting my eyes.

More of me will catch alight.
Inside your spell, I feel no mercy.
Just heat.

Your skin brushes mine,
The flame flickers.
And feeds.

Rapidly it will finish what is there.
And move into the crowns.
And speed up.

Soon, my mind will be consumed.
Such is a time I sweat and bleed.
Internally, I have died.

And charred bones and
Stricken hearts.
It leaves nothing but embers.

One addictive look inside you,
One kiss and they ignite.
To feed upon me once more.

Again I am ravished by fire.
By light, by heat.
By love.

Inspired by the Victorian bushfires. Not all fires burn trees...
