An old friend

An old friend has written me back

It was so long ago

Yet it felt just like it was yesterday

We’ve just met

Funny how time goes by

Some friendships end

Like they have never begun

So soon forgotten

And erased from that written chapter

There is some that are forgotten

For just a little while

Leading different lives

For just a little while

Until one day a good wind blows by

Things start where they have left off

In those old days

He hasn’t forgotten me at all

As I never forgot him

He and I always shared our many dreams

Where one would talk of stars

In the sky above

How we wanted to be on the same team

Flying off to see the universe with our own eyes

To see new wonders

Oh

How we shared every dream that one else could see

Or understand

Oh so dear is he to me

He hasn’t forgotten

An old friend

Has come back into my life and so I into his

Seems like we have never stopped talking all these years

We have not spoken

An old friend dearly missed

And glad he has come back
