His eyes

so warm and inviting

so deep and kind

and ever so revealing

of his soul

always so subtly hypnotic

almost beseeching

"I love you,

put your arms around me."

"I love you,

hold me tight

and kiss me."

with a final breath

before the weight of surrender,

gasping out

"I love you, won't you please be mine?"

their steel blue skies

hinted with a grey mist

like the seas in the dawn

their calm, undisturbed waters

and really,

what is it about water

that makes you want to float in it

forever?

as i gaze into them

i'm suddenly very much lost

not in the forests of life

with tall grasses and dark trees

but in the mystery of the water

and all the things it's been said

to hide

upon his voice when he says

"won't you smile for me just once?"

those impossible eyes fix me in place,

with another undertone whispering,

"I have you where I want you..."

and even more silent,

laced in the air he breathes,

they take on an even more serious note

in silence his words pour out like

the breaking of a dam

but at the same time as slow

as the growth of a bamboo tree

this look haunts from night and day

just as everything else revolving

around him and his stature

leaving me in a dream-like state

while also wide awake

everything is hushed all around us

darkness of our deepest emotions

threatens to creep upwards

but at his eyes and their unchanging

warmth, i am walking towards the entity

closer to the dreams

of Love like Winter

he looks at me again with those eyes

saying the same three requests

and upon the stroke of Two

we are more than we have ever dreamed

his eyes remain unchanging

while mine are all the brighter

as the door to possibilities has opened

his arms take me in shelter

while in his eyes he seeks the same

comfort he has given me

and so i take the lead

put my arms around him

holding him close with a kiss

on his forehead,

and say softly with both eyes and voice,

"I'm yours."
