Alecs would be in his room silently sleeping. He had one hell of a bad dream last night, that kept him up all nigh. His long knee length black hair would be wrapped around his body, covering over his white t-shirt, and long black jean-looking-pants. Alecs sighed in his sleep as he drempt of a family that would love him, and not hate him for how he was born. Then when he turned around, the family was shot down by a big wolf looking human. His eyes shot up and he screamed at least a second. He pushed his self up under the covers and started to cry his eyes out. He’s had these dreams ever since he gotten to this orphanage. Alecs pouted quietly as he would lay back down in his bed and stare at the ceiling, tears running down the sides of his face. He took his pale hand and whipped them off. He sighed as he blinked his black eyes...
Apparently Alecs wasn’t the only one having a rough night. Or had a rough night rather. Zhaidah had been up for a while now…and currently sat in one of her favorite places. The attic. All around her, old dusty books and a few other items sat around her, only a few touched by none other than Zhai herself. However, today she wasn’t reading the old books that a kid her age shouldn’t be able to understand yet….instead she sat right under the only window in the room, knees partly drawn up to her chest, one arm wrapped around her legs, while the other hand stroked what looked like an albino Ferret. Indeed…earlier in the night, she’d had a run in with her own dreams…only hers…was much different. Something the tied into her life before this place…which shouldn’t be possible. She’d been left here when she was an infant…no memories should have been able to form even in her dreams. However, in the dream, she wasn’t an infant…and actually an adult…or close to it. Her hair was long again…and she was in a battle along side someone with demonic powers. She was hand in hand with that person, and they shared and mixed their power. Which was also far fetched, because Zhaidah had no power, let alone the angelic power she’d seen being used in the dream. So normally she’d cast it aside. But this dream had occurred many times…three or four times a week. And it was always the same, save for a couple of more things appearing, and becoming clear…and once…it had gone to a different scene. Something horrific…something she never wanted to see in life ever. Like tonight. She’d had that awful part of the dream last night. Zhai sighed again. “Ruru…what am I gunna do? What’s it all mean?”
Alecs sighed as he pushed him self up off the bed and onto the floor. His black hair un tangling from around his body and falling down straight to his knees. He had some long hair for a 10 year old boy. He sighed softly as black eyes looked around his room. He stood on his toes to reach the door knob and opened it. He put his hand back down, walked out to the hall, then closed the door behind him. He sighed as he looked around. This place was quite, a little to quite. He raised a brow as he walked some more around the orphanage. Alecs made his way down the stairs from his room. He was looking for someone that could give him something to eat. He was starving. All that crying and bad dreams really got him self an apatite. Noone was around in the orphanage. Or at least he didn’t see anyone. Alecs made his way into the kitchen. ”Hello...?” he said in a low voice, opening the swinging door and brushing past it. He looked around in the kitchen. He seen the fridge and walked to it slowly not wanting to get in trouble if anyone was in the kitchen. He looked to both sides and opened the door. He pulled out a sandwich, ham and cheese, his favorite, ”Yum...” Alecs closed the door and went to the swinging door and opened it. Then continued to walk to his own room. He sighed looking around...
Zhaidah ‘s head lifted as she caught the sound of something moving downstairs. She blinked and moved to crawl over to the square hole in the floor…or roof of the kitchen….and lifted the wood slate from it a couple of inches. She poked her head down into the kitchen and looked down to the counter, where she used to climb up into her little hiding place, then around the kitchen. Her eyes got wide…one of the other kids. The Ferrets head poked down next to her’s, his nose and whiskers wiggling as he sniffed around and watched the boy. Zhai quickly slipped her head back into the attic before the boy could see her, Ruru doing the same, He squeaked at her and waddled over moving to crawl up to her shoulder and drape himself across her neck. Of course, looking at her white sun dress now, you’d be able to tell that she’d been in a dusty place…the seat of her dress and now her knees and such….was all dusty and grey with the amount of dust she’d collected by just being up there for the last hour or two. She gave a small eep. “Oh no…” She whispered to herself…and to Ruru of course.
Alecs sighed as he looked around and finished his sandwich. He heard something going on up stairs. But who was a wake around this time or morning? The rain came down hard on the roof, he could hear it hitting against the widow. The thunder booming and crackling. Alecs started to have flashback of the dream he had with the big wolf-looking-human. He closed his black eyes and took a deep breath and let it out. That dream really had him scared. Just thinking of that noise got him scared. He shook his head and walked back to the kitchen. He opened the swinging door once again. He looked around again. But, this time. He came in to the kitchen to change. Alec’s looked around as he sighed, ”jay-a-lugo-Lugo-kekin-ji” she said as his form started to grow taller. His black hair got a little shorter to his back since he was now in his older stage. He sighed as he looked up to the celilng. He put his pale hand onto the steel-metal-table, and pulled him self up. He stood up and moved on of the slates, that was behind the girl that he doesn’t know is up there, and grabbed on of the wooden beams and pulled him self up. ”Now, where did I put my necklace...?” he asked as he turned around and put the slate back down. Then he turned around, and froze looking at the girl in the white dress, black eyes opened wide. His breath soft, his hair fallen over his face. His looked more like a girl in this form. He stared at her not blinking...
Zhaidah just stared, that’s all the could do…she’d spun around and just stared at the male. Who was he…and where did that little boy go. Oh right…he’d turned INTO the male. What was going on!? Zhai started to edge backwards until her back game into contact with a large pile of books, sending them tumbling over with a very loud clatter and series of bangs. Zhai squeaked and jumped forward then, instinctively grabbing onto the man’s arm, looking at the pile of books with wide red eyes. She took in a deep breath…then looked towards the man. She squeaked again and let go of him, jumping away. The only thing Ruru could do was cling to Zhai’s shoulders that he didn’t fall to the dusty floor. Of course all the clatter had probably woken up the Mistress. And she hated Zhai enough…and hated Zhai being up here even more. So when Zhai heard the sound of the woman walking down the hall towards the kitchen, grumbling under her breath, Zhai got a slightly terrified look on her face...
Alecs ‘s eyes winded as the girl grabbed on to his arm then let go. He took his hand and pushed some of his hair out from his face. ”Shh shh..shh...” he said as he turned back into his child-like-form. He blinked looking at her. ”If we be quite she won’t find us...” he said in a whisper. He picked up on of the slates and looked down threw the hole. He seen this mistress, his eyes winded. ”The old hag is just getting up for some coffee,” He said as he put the slate back down. ”Give her a few minutes, and she’ll be gone...” he said as he crawled over to where all the books fell. He picked up a single book the binding made of leather. He took a pocket knife out from his pants pocket and flicked it open. Then cut a straight line on the binding of the book. He tore it open and pulled the golden necklace, with a glowing red ruby in it. He smiled as his eyes sparkled from the glowing red. He looked back at the girl. ”I’m Al-lecs...who are you...?” he asked looking at her as he put the Ruby part of the necklace in his hand and looked at it...
Zhaidah merely watched him for a minute, staring at the ruined book. She was gunna read that one next. One wouldn’t think that a tiny child like her would want to read such an ancient book, let alone be able to…but if you ever saw her, you’d know that she wasn’t normal. She was much more intelligent than any kid her age should be. Zhaidah did indeed stay quiet, until the old woman moved back out again, finally talking. “I-I-I’m Zhai-uh…Zhaidah.” She answered back, starting to relax slightly, still looking at the book with slightly mournful eyes. She glanced to the necklace now. “Why do you have that up here? What’s it for?” She asked, her interest perking now. Oh yes…nothing interesting usually happened here…so when something even remotely interesting popped up, it was something she very much got curious about. Somewhat of an annoyance in a way. She was like a puppy. Big eyes and cuteness included. She started forward slightly, again, a question popping up in her mind. “H-How did you do that? I mean…the transformation and stuff? What are you?” She asked, big red eyes now sparkling with curiosity.
Alecs smiled some as he heard all her questions. ”It’s up here, ‘cause my father put it up here...” he said as he over to her, then back down to the necklace.” He paused, ”It’s so the old hag, and who ever else can’t hear or see me in my other form...” he said as he looked at her and put it around his neck and clipped it together. ”This was my home before the old hag took it from us..and my parents gave me up along with it...” He played with the stone around his neck in his fingers. “I’m a age shifter...” he paused. “I can’t shift from my ten year old form...and shift into a nine-teen year old form...” Alecs smiled. He took the pocket knife and flicked it shut and put it back in his pants pocket. He took the book he ripped opened, closed his eyes and swiped his hand over it. It looked perfectly new. Indeed, that book was an ancient. As in six-hundred years -ancient-. Alecs sighed as he put the book back on the floor and looked at Zhaidah...
Zhaidah leaned back and listened to his words, nodding here and there, and glancing away when he spoke of being given up with the house. She looked to the book as well, a small smile playing over her pretty little features. She reached for the book. “I like books.” She muttered, running her hand over the ancient cover, looking up to smile at him. “Some of the other kids and even the adults don’t think I understand these books because they are so old. But…I do. One of my favorites so far, is that history book over in the right side of the attic.” She turned to look in that direction. “It talks about the founding and stuff of this very land. It’s actually so old it was written in ink. The handwriting it so nice. I wish I could write that neat.” Zhai muttered, turning back to again flash him that smile of hers, Before returning to the subject of his age-shifting. “So…in reality…how old are you really?” She asked, her head tipping to the side.
Alecs smiled, ”...my naturel form is age ten...” he said as he paused. ”My second from is just a form, temporary...like if I want to climb up here. I’ll be tall enough to do so...” flashed a smile to her. ”I bet my father was the that written the book you like...” he looked over at the book she said, ”He was always writing..one reason why he gave up the house, everyone thinks it’s hunted...’cause my mother was killed in my room by some wolf-human...” he trailed off as frowned and blinked. He looked back up at her and sighed. ”Wanna see me shift again...?” He ask as he took his hand took the necklace off from around his neck and smiled. He waited for her to speak before he did anything. Black eyes looked at him. His long hair wrapped around his body, like always. He blinked...
Zhai blinked and glanced towards the book again, before watching Alecs move around. She blinked a bit. “By a wolf-person….?” She blinked again as she suddenly asked her if she wanted to see him transform again. She smiled and bobbed her head. She found it fascinating. This was a girl who loved to learn things. A lot. Which was why she read stuff…and why she paid attention to everything around her. Once she nodded, she leaned forward, placing her hands on the floor, eye filled with eagerness. This time, when he transformed, she would be watching very carefully…any words that he said, and every change his body made, that would be visible to the eye.
Alecs smiled as he stood up, his hair un-wrapped from around his body. i ””jay-a-lugo-Lugo-kekin-ji” /I he spoke as he opened his eyes. His hair grew shorter to his shoulders. This form made him look kind of like a woman, just with out boobs. He smiled at Zhai and looked at her, i ”Tad-da” /I he put his hand out as if he was showing off to her. He say back down on the floor and looked at her with black eyes. The rain still falling, and the thunder still booming. The lighting still crackling. He heard movement down below. This time it wasn’t in the kitchen. His eyes winded as he picked the necklace. i ”I’ll still be here, but you won’t see me...” /I he said as he put the necklace around his neck and smiled as he went invisible. He looked at Zhai and then walked past her, a cold-like I wind /I brushed passed her. Alecs picked a slate up as he looked down at everyone down the stairs. They all look weird. Alecs put the slate down. His hand moved up to the necklace as he took it off and put it in his pants pocket. He sighed, i ”Wanna-be mothers are here...” /I He said rolling his eyes looking at Zhai...
She blinked slightly, smiling as he transformed. “Cooooool….” She breathed, staring at him after he transformed. Then he went invisible. She blinked and smiled even more, however that smiled died as she moved towards the opening, peering down as well. “Oh…well that doesn’t concern me. Ma’am told me not to bother going down to see the parents. So I won’t…perhaps I’ll read a book?” She leaned back again, looking to Ruru, who had his head lifted to take in Alecs’s scent, peering at him with red, beady eyes. Zhai started crawling back over to the book that he’d just replaced, lifting the giant thing to her lap, opening it to the first page. She leaned down and blew on the paper, getting rid of some of the dust, before delicately brushing it off. She started reading, slightly hunched, Ruru climbed down Zhai’s arm, curling his long body into a ball as he rested in the circle of her crossed legs...
