As I walk, I feel the gentle kiss of rain on my cheek

I smile and close my eyes

You love the rain

The soft pitter patter on the sidewalk rests my ailing mind

The refreshing scent eases my stress

Once again, I am back in your embrace on a wet night

We laugh as we splash each other

I lament my wet socks

You take joy in your soaked shirt

But methinks I doth reminisce too much

It rained the night we ended, too

You taught me to like the rain

And as I enjoy it

I remember you

And that night

The sky cried for me

I have failed again

The rain brought you back to the forefront of my mind

I must learn to separate happy from you

Falling out of love is hard to do

Like a dog, I am in training

This action must not lead to

That thought

Or my psyche will collapse
