Deaf

You could write me a letter / And I would read it every day / Left alone in the privacies of my mind / I could stay there forever / Black and white as it may seem / Because color complicates things way too much

But don’t you know I’m still broken / From what I’ve done to myself / And you’re too tired to listen / I scream for help but you just walk away

You could paint me a picture / And I’d hang it on my wall / Next to the hundreds of others you’ve done for me so far / I could always count on you / To cry out your guilty conscience / While you drown me in your drunken state of mind

But don’t you know I’m still broken / From what I’ve done to myself / And you’re too tired to listen / I scream for help but you just walk away
