Towering high above the world
Gothic towers stand aloof,
Hiding evanescent light
From the village down below.
The cottage doors slam shut
‘Gainst fear and freezing cold.
Strange charms hang ‘round the window
As the night comes once again.
Frantic bays towards cantankerous moon
Are frozen in mid-plea.
With a single wave they scatter,
Mourning what they used to be.
A blurry silhouette descends
Landing softly on the snow.
He wanders through deserted streets
Looking for someone all alone.
