Fool’s Paradise
A cacophony of colors.
A mass of sounds.
Blank eyes stare back.
A lone hibiscus rests
Beneath a shooting star,
Forced into dewy bloom
By the shrill cry
Echoing
From between blue lips.
Silhouetted by the red light
A prince and maiden talk,
Coquettish waves and language
Reveal their every thought.
The little prince stands near,
A broken doll in hand,
Forging his beliefs
Out of pure naïveté.
A knight, soldier, swordsman work,
Searching for the key,
Hoping to find what will bring
To them their just rewards.
A wooden doll,
Forgotten,
Lies just beside the blue
Of the frame around the world…
