We’re in some kid’s
basement, too many people for such little space. Our bodies are
thrashing and mashing together in our insane kind of dance, in time
with the screams of the band. Our fists are in the air and we are
jumping, singing, screaming, all part of one huge, writhing organism
that lives and breathes for this moment. Can you feel our hearts
beating together? The music’s loud, getting louder, and nobody
has any idea what the singer is saying but that doesn’t matter,
does it? It’s the sounds and the movement and the energy and the
passion that matter, and this sense of unity that’s pulling us all
together. We’re not a bunch of lonely kids anymore, we’re
united, we stand together as one, and nothing can break us apart.
Music does that for us.
