T minus… to my exam

T minus twelve hours, thirty-two minutes
Until my next exam begins
Finally, it’s my last one
- on the last day, no less -
I’ve gotta learn this subject,
But I think I can spare a moment
To check my email

T minus eleven hours, four minutes
I should probably go to bed
Sleep would be good
Can’t write well if I’m tired, eh?
I’ll finish studying in the morning

T minus five hours, twenty-five minutes
My alarm jolts me from my dreams
And I don’t want to wake
Reset it for some abstract later time
Roll over
Fall back asleep

T minus three hours, thirty minutes
Ok! I’m up! I’m up, already!
Wander to the bathroom
Pull on my shirt and socks
Sit down in front of my computer
To read the online lecture notes
Eyes blinking closed

T minus two hours, thirty-six minutes
Maybe I’ll go down the street
Grab a coffee
Yah, that should do the trick
Mm, hazelnut café mocha…

T minus one hour, forty-seven minutes
Yes! I’ve successfully studied a little bit
But, the subject matter
Is starting to weigh my brain down
Time for some poetry…

T minus twenty-three minutes
I head on over to the building
Where the exam is taking place
I know the room well
Unfortunately because I was here all term
Taking a different course and subject matter
I hope this won’t confuse me

T minus thirty seconds
To the start of the exam
T minus two hours, thirty minutes, thirty seconds
To FREEDOM!!!

I hope I pass…
