sacrifice
this is my body
writhing like a bed of serpents around your golden pedestal,
within your ropes' embrace.
confining and confusing, legs wrapped around limbs
wrapped around throats.
your hands, calloused and damp from the perspiration trickling down to your wrists;
you, wretched and raving—your silent ecstasy a mantra upon my lips.
inside, you are everywhere,
quixotic and quintessential,
a god to me, and
all that i am is this,
what you see before you,
mortal and flickering like a candle flame,
wavering.
skin-warm wax caught in my throat and congealing.
my flesh, my bones, my sweat
this is all that i am,
the slaughtered lamb upon your bloodied altar.
(the silver blade thrust deep inside,
the pain blossoming in between the stifled cries—)
my lord, my savior, my everything,
this is all that i have
given up for you.
