in a lifeless field

lay a patch of flowers

clouds gaze down at them

as pass by hours

another flower dies

when a heart is hurt

and the flowers decrease

as love lessens more

love isn’t in the air

hate grows in the earth

and a new heart broken

is a new flower’s birth

the cycles continues

through the series of life

over and over

a flower will die

the petals change color

from the strength of the heart

and when the petals turn black

it soon falls apart

in a lifeless field

lay a patch of flowers

there’s remains of one

that flower is ours
