The Problem of The Lonely

Written By: Lady Alera Van Hexis

I watched him

From far away

And yet so near

He sat

Close to me

Our bodies touching

But never more

Than a friendly touch

He would hold

In his warm embrace

But it was

Never

More

Than a friendly embrace

Then we spoke

But never too many words

Just enough to let him know

And yet

He knew nothing

I still watch him

A lone figure and yet

We are together

I see him

And he sees me

But we are still these

Sad and

Broken

Figures

We pass each other

Both of us knowing

The other is there

But we may never

Touch

Embrace

Or

Speak

For we are eternity

We are salvation

Forgiveness and strife

We are the voices of

The lost

And the lonely

The lonely always

Have another

Someone to touch

Embrace

And speak to

The problem with the lonely

I am sad to say

Because I know

Is that the reason we

Are so lonely

Is because we are so good

At pushing away
