I can tell when you lie, did you know that? It comes from years of having you lie right to my face. It doesn’t really even hurt anymore, because I expect it. You pause for exactly two seconds, then glance to the left of me, before looking into my eyes and lying. Do you think I’m an idiot, that I can’t figure out the truth from other sources? That I haven’t come up with a thousand ways to find out the truth besides asking you? So now you know, you’re the reason I don’t trust anyone. Why I haven’t trusted anyone for years. This time it hurt. Do you know why? I had just decided that it might be worth trusting people again. And I might trust people again, but not you, never you.
