You tell me that I’m safe

When the danger is so near

My eyes are blurring over from the intense fear,

I can feel it in the air

It’s weighing heavily on my body

And choking back my breath

I’m tired of you judging me

The way you smile sympathetically

And nod your head like you agree

But your words tell me otherwise

They tell me your expressions are all lies

You use the words, hallucinations

Magical thinking

And irrational fears

I’m stinging from your disbelief

And the fact that you can’t see

The danger building up

And the hurricane starting to brew

I’m on the edge of this world

Hanging on by a thread

That you’re about to snap

The other world it wants me

And it’s the last place I want to be

But if you don’t believe me

Then no one here can save me

And I’m scared of getting lost

Somewhere no one else can seem to see

I’m tired of you judging me

The way you smile sympathetically

And nod your head like you agree

But your words tell me otherwise

They tell me your expressions are all lies

You tell me my thoughts aren’t based

In your reality

And I think it’s not right

That you can’t realize my world’s here

Just because you can’t see it

Doesn’t mean it’s not,

Clear as glass to me

But I don’t say this

Because you’d judge me

And you already seem to think I’m crazy

And that hurts enough already

But maybe my silence hurts worse

I don’t know

It’s hard to tell

I’m tired of you judging me

The way you smile sympathetically

And nod your head like you agree

But your words tell me otherwise

They tell me your expressions are all lies.
