Lust

Chapter Six:

-Present day: Jan. 2007-

I sat back, staring at the computer monitor. Instead of making it halfway fiction, I was writing what actually happened. I hit my forehead and looked the other way. Justine had warned me that I might get too involved and spill how things happened. it was something that I was never to reveal and I suddenly felt bad.

The phone rang, echoing in the silent house. It was empty and quiet and for some reason, I had the insane feeling, the need to have children around me. When I was changed, it was something I had to give up. I leaned over the computer desk and picked up the annoying phone.

“’Ello?” I spoke quietly, glancing up at the ceiling tiles.

“Mel?” a velvet smooth voice asked and I smiled.

“Hey Justine, when will you be back?” I asked, swiveling around in the chair. His booming laugher echoed from behind me. I smirked and stood up, laying the phone down. In the seven or eight months he had been gone, he had changed his appearance yet again. Something that we had to do constantly when we moved around. He had cut his hair short, just a little bit above his ears. He wore contacts (something else we’ve taken to wearing in this day of age) and this time he chose emerald green ones.

“Still writing?” he asked, his eyes flickering across the screen. I could tell, even from where he stood, he saw every word of truth about us. His eyes narrowed and I gave a sheepish grin.

“I couldn’t help myself,” I drawled on, suddenly knowing the excuse was lame. “Oh, don’t worry, I do plan on changing things once it’s written.” I remarked, turning around to shut the document. I heard his quiet snort of disapproval but I wasn’t going to change it anytime soon. I’d be dammed first (oh, wait, I already am for eternity!) before I deleted things or altered them.

“Would you like something..?” I trailed off.

“Coffee would be good; the last guy I bite tasted of stale beer and piss.” Justine said, making a funny face. I chuckled at his reaction and started towards the kitchen, only taking a tiny glance back at the computer. I only shook my head and padded quietly into the dark room.

Flipping on a light, I heard Justine hiss. It was something that he did whenever any type of lights came on. He couldn’t tolerate light much, meaning he waited until dusk to go out anywhere. Only the ancient vampires could stand the sunlight for long periods of time. And even they needed to burrow into ground or darkness after a while. Well, except for me. After I turned, I went out into the sun constantly, only coming back in when my skin would start to scorch. I had a high tolerance for it and I think it irked Justine even more.

“Hazelnut be all right for now? ‘Cause it’s the only thing I have tonight,” I said, showing him the only container. He shrugged and I sensed his displeasure. “Suck it up you ass wipe,” I growled out, annoyed whenever he got like this. He only grunted back, and pulled out a chair, scrapping its legs across the tiles. I cringed and looked over my shoulder, glaring at him. He rewarded me with a shrug of his shoulders and slumped in the chair. I shook my head and sighed, sticking a coffee filter into the coffeemaker.

“God, I miss the old days,” he mumbled and I knew he was going to start whining again. He closed his eyes and I inhaled the rich smell of hazelnut. The machine gave a hiccup and I groaned loudly. Earlier in the week I had forgotten to go out and buy a new one. This one was about to die and it pissed me off. Another pint of coffee spilled out before the maker gave out on me.

“GAH!” I screamed at the top of my lungs, grabbing the white machine and yanking it from the wall. I heard a snicker but I kept my gaze trained on the maker. “You stupid, piece of crap, idiotic, fucking worthless piece of shit!” I let out another string of curses and I had Justine rolling on the floor. I gave the maker a squeeze, smirking when I heard the tiny parts inside cracking and breaking.

“HAHA! I WIN!” a victory for me! I danced around, tossing it into the trash bin. I glanced over my shoulder to find Justine rolling about on the floor, laughing and clutching his side. I grinned evilly, plans and evil plots forming quickly. I hopped over to his side, dropped to my knees and found his weak spot; his second ribs. Then I tickled him like my life depended on it. He screamed with laughter and so did I. I was grinning and laughing when his large hands landed on my waist. I gave a shudder from the touch. It had been so long I nearly forgot what that felt like.

He rolled me over onto my back, grinning above me. I smirked and stuck my tongue out. “That’s cheating,” I teased, poking his chest. He laughed, his body rumbling from the force. I shivered and clenched my thighs together from the thoughts floating into my mine. I grinned widely and while he was distracted, I flipped him over onto his back. His gaze was surprised and I grinned happily.

“Got ya,” I whispered, leaning down. He chuckled and his hands brushed the side of my breasts. I shivered again and opened my mouth, my fangs lengthening. I brushed the white fangs against the left side of his neck and I felt his flesh shiver. I smirked against his neck, shortening my fangs to kiss the flushed skin. I smiled to myself. He was always better when he had fresh blood in his system.

His breathing hitched as I pressed two tips into his neck. “It won’t take long,” I whispered, sinking my teeth deep and tasting the blood that flowed past my lips.

Author's Notes: Extremely short chapter. Please forgive me readers! I wanted to switch time POVs and just to the present. I would've paid more attention to detail but did not want to lose my readers in the midst. It'll be something I do every so often so don't worry. :D Things move quickly in this chapter. I did not waste anytime on that. Just as long as you keep reading I'll keep updating. :D

Thank you!
