Carter was rubbing his hands together and looking at the back half of Emily as I came into the kitchen. "Not for you," I said, and turned his chin to move his view out the window.

"Hey, I wasn't looking like that," he said innocently.

"Sure you weren't," I said suspiciously.

"Looking what?" said Emily, oblivious, as she poked her head out of the refrigerator.

"Never mind," I said, noticing that they were the only other people in the house. "Where'd the other two go?"

"They went to get our Chinese food," Carter answered, beginning to rub his hands together again. "God, she's hot, isn't she?"

"Who?"

"Kate."

"Oh, um, Dean's..." I trailed off, hoping that he would fill in whatever she was.

"Yeah," he said, grinning. "I think I'm gonna ask her out." Emily sighed loudly and rolled her eyes at him.

"You would," she said, handing him a 2 liter bottle of soda.

"Won't Dean have something to say about that?" I asked. Carter grinned wider.

"Probably," he said mischievously, "but I'd rather hear what she has to say first." That was just like Carter. He had stolen at least one or two of Simon's steady girlfriends, and there were many others that had gone out once or twice with Simon or Dean and then slept with Carter.

"We're back," Dean called from the front door. I heard Kate giggle.

"I don't think I've ever seen this much Crab Rangoon," she said as they walked into the kitchen. She is hot, I thought. Carter was watching me and seemed to know what I was thinking. He gave me a wink and two thumbs up and immediately offered to help Kate with all of the food she was carrying. Dean was already getting into the Lo Mein. Kate glanced over, saw what he was doing, and slapped his wrist.

"No sneaking," she said, and grinned at him.

"Meany," he stuck his tongue out at her. "She always makes me wait," he told us. I grabbed a pair of chopsticks and the box of Sesame Chicken.

"Doesn't seem like it," I muttered, and went into the living room and turned on the TV. I wasn't alone for long, because 2 minutes later Dean came and sat down on the couch next to me with his box of Lo Mein.

"What was that all about?" I ignored his question.

"Where did everybody go?"

"Outside." He scooted closer, pulled my Sesame Chicken away, and looked into my eyes. Damn those gorgeous eyes of his, I thought. "Now are you going to tell me why you're so mad?" Unable to look away, I decided to change my facial expression. I glared at him.

"Two months ago you kiss me and tell me I'm in love with you, and now you come back with a blonde and expect me not to be mad?" Dean looked at me sideways but said nothing. "You know what makes me even madder?" Dean shook his head. "The fact that I have to reason to be mad that you brought a girl, except the fact that we're not friends anymore because of this whole stupid situation."

"We're not?" he asked, the hurt look on his face making me feel worse than I had when I had seen her standing next to him at the guys' house the night before.

"Well, I haven't seen or talked to you for two months," I said. "And I--"

"Kate is not my girlfriend," Dean interrupted.

"She's not?" He smiled and shook his head.

"She's my sister." My head fell back against the couch.

"Oh god," I groaned. "Dean, I'm so sorry..."

"It's okay," he grinned. "I brought Kate along to meet you guys. I knew she'd love you all as much as I do."

"I feel so cliché," I laughed.

"It's really okay, Patrice," he said, snaking his arm around me and squeezing my shoulders. "I'm sorry I didn't make it clearer to you. I thought Luc told you on the phone last night."

"Luc is devious," I said. "All he said was that he had a surprise for me."

"And then you couldn't stay around long enough to let me explain."

"Couldn't be helped," I said.

"It will be soon," he grinned, and the doorbell rang.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked, as Luc, Natalie, and Simon let themselves in. "Are you guys plotting against me?"

"No," Natalie answered, and got close to us. "Against Emily," she whispered.

"They're outside," I said.

"Oh," Natalie laughed, "guess I don't need to whisper, then."

"Brought your Corona back," Luc said, grinning, and took it and Natalie into the dining room.

"But not my margarita fixin's?" I asked, standing up.

"One more thing," Dean said quietly. He stood up and leaned toward my ear. "Why would I go out and find some other girl if I was still waiting for you to come after me?" He smiled. "But Luc says you're still in denial."

"Quit talking about me," Luc called from the other room.

"I'm not talking about you, I'm whispering about you," Dean called back.

"I've never seen more gorgeous rose bushes!" Kate gushed, as Dean and Simon and I found our way into the dining room where everyone else seemed to be.

"Thanks," Emily blushed.

"Hey Em." Luc was waving a pink index card as Teri, who had gotten finally gotten herself out of bed, wandered into the kitchen half dressed. "This was on your windshield."

"Of... my car?" Emily said with a confused look on her face.

"Do you have another windshield?" asked Luc, amused, as he handed her the card. She gasped.

"It's from my mystery man!"

"How do you know?" Nat asked.

"Your what?" said Kate.

"She's got a secret admirer," Luc explained.

"It's his handwriting," Emily sighed lovingly, then read aloud: "'I'm sorry about last night. I'm ready now.' Ready now? What does that mean? Do I have to go to Tiá Maria's again? God! This is so confusing! Why does he have to be so cryptic?"

"Maybe it's not as cryptic as you think it is," Simon volunteered.

"What do you mean?" she blinked at him.

"Maybe it means he's standing in this room," he said softly. Luc and I grinned at each other. Go Simon! I thought. Emily looked at all the guys. I could see her eliminate them all one by one in her head. Not Luc, he's with Nat, not Dean, he likes Patrice, please god not Carter... She finally landed on Simon and saw the long stemmed rose he had just pulled out from behind his back.

"S-Simon!"

"Emily, I--" Simon started, but decided to stop talking when Emily kissed him.
