Brighter Still

As the sun shines,

Onto now luminescent,

Creases of her pale face.

She's been lost for so long,

Not even you know her cries,

No one knows what she feels,

All of the pain.

When she thinks of him,

And what he did.

The pain pours into tears.

Only she can't blame him,

It's so hard.

Shadows intertwine with light,

Powering over the fear.

And the darkness appears lighter,

In the dimness of his presence.

Through blind courage,

And ever so present panic.

She talks to him,

In imaginary moments.

She's been afraid of changing,

Because she built her life around him…

Facades turn into a mere vantage,

Of the never distant memory.

Not of peace,

Or of love,

Or of fear,

Just nothing…

And it still appears brighter.
