I wrote this on 8/12/06 and 8/18/06 but didn’t put it up till now. Yes, Veteran’s Day was awhile ago but I still wanted to put this up. I hope you all like it. Please if you like to tell me what you think of it.

When I think of veterans what or who do I think of? I think of the men and woman who gave their lives, their freedom up for us. I think of the soldiers who have a disability now because they fought for our country. I think of the people just doing their job because they want the country to remain free. To know that even if they die or get seriously hurt it was worth it. All of it.

Veterans I believe are a core part of our country. Without them would we even be here? Have the freedoms we have? The ability to say things and not have to worry about the consequences. To know that we are free because of the men and woman fighting for us, for our country.

It is because of our veterans, because of these brave souls that I write this. That I can give tribute to who it belongs to, not someone who hasn’t done anything to deserve it.

These men and women give up their lives, everything it seems for us. They’re families have to go through periods of praying their loved ones come home. Praying that they live, even if it is with an injury.

Some soldiers never make it home. They die or are captured by the enemy. They are always looked for but never found. Some soldiers are found years later, even decades later. The families who have a MIA person never seem to get over it. No one who looses a loved one gets over it.

Our veterans deserve respect. They deserve to be the heroes they are. They give up everything it seems to protect our country. Don’t they deserve being recognized for this? For going to do their duty even if they don’t agree sometimes. Just as all of us deserve and want respect for things we do so do these men and women. Our veterans, the men and women of the United States army, marine corps, air force, navy, and etc.

May God or whoever you believe in be with you all throughout these days.
