Silence as humanity passes.

Is this what happens when time stops?

We couldn't speak,

Standing there amongst a crowd

Who barely saw my tears

As I opened my mouth to speak.

A forced-back sob, a single tear that nearly fell.

Time moved once more as I drew away.

Unable to speak.

Unable to tell you what I wanted to say.

If I spoke, I knew

I wouldn't stop crying.

But not from the words I told you.

From the thought of missing you again.
