this dying year is chilling me
as i lift my glass and say

as we distance ourselves with lies
as the rich get richer and the fat get fatter
i'd love to hear you repeat your lines

so drink that sweet, sweet wine
and drown yourself in champagne colored dreams
i'll wear that stupid hat and cheer to a year anew
but in the end, nothing's gonna change

this long month is choking
one last whisper out of me
