Shades of Me

Bright like the

Sun Flashy like a

Neon “Open” sign

Outwardly bubbly and happy

I’m quick in everything:

Speaking

Thinking

Anger

Looks can be deceiving

But what I appear

I often am

I am vivid Sports Car

Yellow Like a Mustang

I zip by life

Seemingly without

Care

Like the tulip

In the garden

I am

Frail

And

Delicate

Do not be fooled by this bright exterior!

When the bright Sun

Sets

And the silver Moon

Rises

The dark side of my life

Surfaces

Midnight Black

Rather than Midnight Blue

Blue is not bleak

Enough

To describe the pain in

My Heart

I am Midnight Black

And numb

My heart becomes a

Black hole

Everything gets pulled in

And thrown around

The only light

In the depth of my despair

Are the Moon and Stars

They are all I hold dear

But they are so

Out of reach; Eluding me in this depression

But still giving me hope

That this Midnight Black vale

Can be removed

And once again return me

To my flashy vibrant

Sports Car Yellow
