Disclaimer: I don't own the names, but I own the characters.

A/N: Well my inspiration was the game 'Need for Speed Carbon: Own the City.

Chapter One:

"A Silver Lotus Elise had over took a Red Porsche Cayman S and won the race, but once the Lotus Elise had skid to a stop, the angered driver of the Porsche had kept pressing the accelerator till it crashed into the Lotus at which point both cars had lit up into a mighty big flame.
A girl narrowed her eyes and closed her eyes tight with tears flowing down her eyes.

'FATHER' she had screamed before landing onto her knees, the rims had rolled away from the flames and in front of the girl, she recognized it straight away and kept on weeping...

'Father… why?'"

----

"GET UP K!"

Karin shook slightly in shock and groaned her eyes open to see her best friend Gina with a big grin, Karin shook her head and muttered, "No you didn't"

"Oh yea I did, I just entered us in the big race tournament with all 6 territorial crews and 1 unknown one. And guess what?"

Karin sat up and rubbed her forehead. "What?" she muttered as she got out of her bed with a big stretch.

"You are the main racer with me as your wingman along with Fox"

The black haired racer shook her head and turned to her blond haired friend and shook her head once more. "Oh come on Gina, out of all races! You know I'm not into that type of stuff just yet"

"It'll be a great opportunity for you to be taken to another crew! Greater than this M.I.N.I. crew" Gina pointed out as she pointed out the window to the slobby, greasy men Karin had been surrounded to for the past 6 months. Karin sighed and knew her own friend was right but she couldn't do anything about it considering the fact the only reason she became famous was the well known race that got her sent to that greasy-men filled crew.

"I know Gina, but you can't really do much can you? I mean come on. Out of all things in life, what are we suppose to do? I can't just quit while I'm ahead"

"But you'll be further with another, STRONGER crew K"

Karin shook her head and opened her bathroom door and threw her clothes out as she got into the shower, the steam began to rise as the heat began to touch her fairly tanned skin, the foamy soap beginning to bubble about her body.
Gina leaned against the wall just beside the door frame and looked at her nails.

"So what do you say K? Up for it"

"Shut up Gina. This has honestly been the stupidest thing you've ever done. And you're not even in this crew!"

"Yea, but the only decent guy around here is Fox. And of course you know who'll be there"

Karin had gone quiet for some times as she had rinsed the soapy bubbles from her body and yelled, "That's going too far, Gina!"

"Oh come on! It's been a month or two since you last talked, you two were best friends longer than you and I, don't let it go to waste because some bitch is trying to get more attention than you!"

Karin opened the shower curtain and wrapped a towel around her slightly athletic body and wandered out of the bathroom with a towel at hand to roughly dry her hair. Still, in her mind she thought of what Gina said, it was true, her and her child hood buddy had separated since the moment the girl who took her place came in.
Karin closed her eyes and reopened them to meet with the blue-eyed friend of hers who stood there with Karin's clothes at hand, and a grin innocently plastered on her face.

"Well..." Karin spoke out loud as the steam rushed passed her. "... Let's get going then"

Gina's face brightened as she handed Karin's clothes at her and squealed, "Get ready then!"

Jake, also known as Fox for his sly moves in the streets, the mechanic four-eyed male, who would rather be a racer than a chance to become the best mechanic in the world, had been busy checking up on the cars, especially his boss' Lotus Elise, it's metallic blue colour with the logo of the current crew they both are in.

"Fox"

The brown haired mechanic stood from behind the hood and arched a brow, his glasses slightly drooped down. He took off his dirty, oily gloves and pushed up his glasses as he walked in front of another male.

"Yea...?" Fox stopped and eyed the male, the other male wasn't from that crew, and he was from an opposing crew and was known as the boss and the best friend of Karin.

"Well I wanna know something"

"What Mike?"

"Come on Fox. Tell me the truth about this. Is Karin going to be in that big tournament?"

Fox shrugged and turned back to the hood to shut it. "I really don't know. Gina did mention something about it, but she's talking to Karin right about now"

Mikael, or Mike for short, leaned against the car before being ushered off by Fox.

"I suggest you don't lean on that or K will get so mad at you" Fox suggested as he turned and yelled, "K, Gina! Get down here!"

Mike looked up and met the eyes made of brown; he narrowed his eyes and muttered, "Karin..."

Karin stopped and glared down. "Mick..."

Gina shook her head and dragged Karin down and in front of Mikael, Fox crossed his arms and said, "Karin... come on. Mike isn't here often, and he's finally away from that skink, Sandra"

Gina nodded and looked at both Mike and Karin. "You two, for like how many years, and this is the only feud you two aren't even talking to about!"

"Well it's not my fault. Karin's the one angry at me"

"Shut up Mick. Don't be a suck up, or have you turned into one after dating Sandra!?"

Gina glared and yelled, "STOP ACTING LIKE LITTLE KIDS AND MAKE UP ALREADY!"

Karin crossed her arms and glared. "No"

Mike narrowed his eyes as Karin slightly pushed him out of the way, she didn't put much force as Mike just got out of the way from her. Karin entered the driver's seat and backed out of the warehouse and away from her friends.
Gina looked at Mike and sighed. "She just needs time off Mike"

"Why does she hate Sandra so much?"

Fox chuckled. "You'll find out tonight Mike, for now, I guess all we can do is wait or her to come back"

"I guess you're right." Mike sighed as he turned and followed Gina and Fox to the kitchen.

-----

Karin took a sharp skid at a park and stopped.
She sighed and panted as she placed her head back onto the head rest and groaned.

"Mick... Why'd you show up your face now? You knew I didn't want to see you..." she muttered as she let the sun visor down and saw an old, happy picture. She closed her eyes and leaned her head against her arms that had been on the steering wheel; she buried her face and began to cry.

"I'm sorry"
