Fish Flakes

I am a clown in a circus tent,

I am purely entertainment.

You shake the tank, you tap the glass.

Thank you for your sympathy.

I panic, but I cannot flee,

This prison, this cell, has confined me.

I am the jester of the doctor’s office,

Bright lights blind, no place to hide,

Behind the castle I blink and stare.

Too much food you offer,

This water, not cleaned in weeks.

In your eyes, I am a trained monkey, an acrobat.

This magician will now perform his final act.

You will not falter as I float to the top.
