A/N: Ok, so I came up with this while scrubbing the floor. It is the product of being on a Starbucks double-shot after laying off the coffee for a while. It's a song and sort of goes to the tune of the verses in "Oh, Susanna". I'll probably take it down after I get off my caffeine high. Don't kill me cuz it sucks.
An Ode to Pack Animals
Oh, Daddy was a cart-horse
And Mommy was a mule,
And they lived together
So life was pretty cool.
Mommy went to market
And never came back home,
Daddy was quite sad,
And made the choice to roam.
We set forth one morning,
So Dad could get a life,
We traveled from town to town
Looking for a wife.
But Daddy could find no one,
This made him kind of sad,
Until one day he found an ox
Who made him rather glad.
The ox and Daddy
Decided to elope,
But they left me here,
On my own to cope.
I tried my best to stay alive,
But I was all alone,
There was nothing I could eat,
But one ancient bone.
So I set forth again
On a noble quest:
To find some kind of food,
To let my stomach rest.
One day I found a carrot
Hanging from a tree,
But when I tried to eat it,
Some people captured me.
It wasn't very pleasant,
Being in their care,
I had to work all night and day,
But who says life is fair?
So I lived out my days,
Under their strict rule.
The moral: Don't be the kid
Of a horse and mule.
