Like this here pond

Walking like the wind
With purpose-
But without destination.
I walk across a frozen pond,
The empty echoes of waterfalls buzz like insects.
A man
Clad in animal skins rises to my side-
Upright.
He whispers:
“Within you,
Within me,
Within us all
Within the quietest machines in the universe-
Lies a bulb-
Forged from an unknown place,
And when the sun
Hides in space
And the earth freezes-
Like this here pond,
The bulbs will flicker to
Life,
Signaling the mother ship-
Wherever she may be.
I turn my neck,
He is gone-
Perhaps it was just the wind.
My gaze turns skyward-
And I watch the sun
Hide behind a spacious nimbus.
